Nathan is an activist and advocate for equity and representation in the theatre industry.

At the center of Nathan’s work is mounting productions that are representative of the entire community on and offstage while working to organize and take actionable steps towards creating a safer, more equitable field.

Nathan has been a catalyst for change. He partnered in the creation of THEATRE ARTISTS FOR SOCIAL CHANGE (TASC) and was instrumental in the writing of both the CLEAN HOUSE STANDARDS and Dobama’s LOVE & RESPECT DOCUMENT.

Under his leadership, Dobama Theatre received the 2019 Kathryn V. Lamkey Award from Actors’ Equity Assocation recognizing theatre companies, individuals, producers and organizations that provide ongoing opportunities for underrepresented members.
